First Aid for Mental Health Training

The following courses are supported by First Aid Awards, a regulated OFQUAL and SQA accreditation awarding organisation. Courses can be delivered in-person or online, group sizes can be from 8 – 16 people*, with prices starting from £45 per person. *maximum of eight learners for courses delivered online.

FAA Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health Level 1 / Level 4 Award in Scotland

This course is suitable for everyone within a workplace as it provides learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions as well as the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help.

A range of subjects are covered including:

• What is First Aid for Mental Health?

• Identifying mental health conditions

• Providing advice and starting a conversation

FAA First Aid for Mental Health Level 2 / Level 5 Award in Scotland

This course provides learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions as well as covering the effects of drugs and alcohol and the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan.

A range of subjects are covered including:

• What is First Aid for Mental Health?

• Identifying mental health conditions

• Providing advice and starting a conversation

• Drugs and alcohol

• First Aid for Mental Health action plan

• First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace

FAA First Aid for Youth Mental Health Level 2 / Level 5 Award in Scotland

The qualification has been designed with children and young people in mind covering areas such as depression, self-harm, eating disorders and bullying, and will provide the knowledge and skills to identify a potential mental health condition, start a conversation and provide support and guidance to professional help.

A range of First Aid for Mental Health related subjects are covered including:

• Identifying mental health conditions

• Stress

• Mental health conditions

• Drugs and alcohol

• First aid action plan for mental health

FAA Supervising First Aid for Mental Health Level 3 / Level 6 Award in Scotland

This course goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions and the support and help provided by healthcare professionals. This course is aimed at those within a supervisor/ manager level within the workplace, as the designated First Aider for Mental Health.
