First Aid for Mental Health Training
The following courses are supported by First Aid Awards, a regulated OFQUAL and SQA awarding organisation.
Courses can be delivered in-person or online.
Group sizes vary depending on delivery method (up to 16 learners in-person, maximum of 8 learners online*).
All courses are delivered over at least two sessions, giving learners more time to understand the material, build confidence, and prepare for assessments.
*Online courses require a 1–1 assessment, which limits group size.
Discounts are available for charities and community groups.
FAA Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health Level 1 / Level 4 Award in Scotland
This accredited course is suitable for everyone in the workplace. It provides learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions, the skills to start a conversation, and the confidence to signpost a person towards professional help. The qualification is valid for three years.
A range of subjects are covered, including:
• What is First Aid for Mental Health?
• Identifying mental health conditions
• Providing advice and starting a conversation
Prices* start from £75 per person (online, max 8 learners) and £85 per person (in-person, between 6 - 16 learners)
Training is delivered over two sessions to support learner understanding. The qualification requires a short assessment — online courses are assessed 1–1, while in-person courses include a group written assessment.
*Prices include course manual and e-certificate. For in-person courses, a posted certificate will be sent to one address for the group.

FAA First Aid for Mental Health Level 2 / Level 5 Award in Scotland
This accredited course provides learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions, as well as covering the effects of drugs and alcohol and the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan. The qualification is valid for three years.

• Identifying mental health conditions
• Providing advice and starting a conversation
• Drugs and alcohol
• First Aid for Mental Health action plan
• First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace
Prices* start from:
£135 per person (online, max 8 learners) and £150 per person (in-person, between 6 - 16 learners)
Training is delivered over two sessions to ensure learners fully understand the content and are well-prepared for the assessments. The qualification requires both a practical role-play assessment and a written assessment

FAA First Aid for Youth Mental Health Level 2 / Level 5 Award in Scotland
This accredited qualification has been designed with children and young people in mind. It covers areas such as depression, self-harm, eating disorders and bullying, and provides learners with the knowledge and skills to identify a potential mental health condition, start a conversation, and provide support and guidance towards professional help. The qualification is valid for three years.
A range of First Aid for Mental Health related subjects are covered including:

• Stress
• Mental health conditions
• Drugs and alcohol
• First aid action plan for mental health
Prices start from:
£120 per person (online, max 8 learners) and £135 per person (in-person, between 6 - 16 learners)
Training is delivered over two sessions to ensure learners fully understand the content and are well-prepared for the assessments. The qualification requires both a practical role-play assessment and a written assessment

FAA Supervising First Aid for Mental Health Level 3 / Level 6 Award in Scotland
This accredited course goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions and the support available from healthcare professionals. It is aimed at those working at supervisor or manager level within the workplace, who will act as the designated First Aider for Mental Health. The qualification is valid for three years.
A range of subjects are covered including:
• What is First Aid for Mental Health?
• Identifying mental health conditions
• Providing advice and starting a conversation
• Drugs and alcohol
• First Aid for Mental Health action plan
• First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace
• A large range of Mental Health conditions covered in detail.
Prices start from:
£230 per person (online, max 8 learners) and £250 per person (in-person, between 4 - 16 learners)
Training is delivered over a minimum of three sessions to ensure depth of understanding and to prepare learners thoroughly for the longer assessments required at this level.
Prices include the mandatory course manual and e-certificate. For in-person courses, a posted certificate can be sent to one address for the group.
An optional digital resource is available at £15 per learner.
