Meet the Founder

Hello, I’m Marcia Edwards, founder of Pathway2Wellbeing.

Before moving into wellbeing and mental health training, I spent nearly 30 years working in corporate IT environments, primarily within the financial sector. During that time, I worked in high-pressure settings, supported teams through change, and experienced first-hand the impact that stress, workload, and competing demands can have on individuals and organisations.

That corporate experience underpins my work today. I understand the real-world pressures organisations face — limited time, increasing responsibility, and the need for support that is practical, proportionate, and genuinely helpful rather than another task to manage.

Marcia Edwards, founder of Pathway2Wellbeing.

Why Pathway2Wellbeing Exists

My journey into wellbeing was also deeply personal. As a parent, particularly during my son’s early health challenges, I found myself searching for gentle, non-medical approaches that supported wellbeing rather than simply managing symptoms.

This led me back to reflexology, and in 2013 I qualified with a Diploma in Reflexology. My learning continued with further training in Functional Reflex Therapy (2015), Limbic Reflexology (2016), and Kinetic Chain Release (2017). Alongside hands-on therapy, I began delivering workshops and wellbeing education, supporting people from all walks of life to better understand stress, regulation, and self-care.

From Practice to Prevention: Developing the RRR Approach

With nearly three decades working in corporate IT environments, alongside my later work in therapeutic practice, wellbeing training, and research, one theme has consistently stood out for me: many people reach support far too late, resulting in a reactive approach rather than a preventative one.

This insight has led to the development of a new training approach — Recognise · Respond · Recover (RRR).

RRR has been designed to support individuals and organisations to:

  • Recognise early signs of stress and overwhelm
  • Respond with confidence, compassion, and appropriate boundaries
  • Recover wellbeing through realistic, preventative self-care strategies

The RRR training brings together mental health awareness and practical self-care, addressing the gap between reactive responses and early, preventative support, and forming the foundation for future work with corporate and organisational settings.

Research-Informed, Experience-Led

My interest in chronic pain conditions, particularly fibromyalgia, deepened during my training in Limbic Reflexology. After completing my training, I volunteered with a local fibromyalgia support group, providing sessions and listening closely to people’s lived experiences.

This work led me back to university in 2018, where I completed a Master of Research (MRes), graduating in 2021. My research explored the potential of limbic reflexology as a complementary approach for managing fibromyalgia and has since been published in a peer-reviewed academic journal.

Professional Practice & Training

From 2018 to 2023, I worked as a Wellbeing Coordinator for a Scottish charity, supporting women through specialist mental health and wellbeing services.

In 2020, I qualified as a First Aid for Mental Health Instructor and have been delivering accredited courses since 2021, alongside developing preventative wellbeing training and workshops.
