Message from the Founder

I spent over 25 years as an IT professional mainly working for financial institutions before re-training as a complementary therapist. My main reason for re-training was because of my children. After looking on the internet for something I could use with my children which did not involve any additional medication, I was drawn to Reflexology.

I qualified with a diploma in Reflexology from the International Institute of Reflexology in 2013. In 2015 I became the first reflexologist in Scotland to complete training in Functional Reflex Therapy (FRT) and have been running FRT workshops for various groups including charities, community groups and parent / carers of children / adults with ASN.

I have a keen interest in the chronic pain condition Fibromyalgia, since working with a person with the condition in 2016 when I was completing my training in Limbic Reflexology. This led to me returning to university in 2018 to start a Master of Research Degree at Glasgow Caledonian University, graduating in January 2021. My final research project was titled “Participant experiences of Limbic Reflexology for Fibromyalgia: An Interpretative Phenomenological analysis. My current focus is looking at a proof-of-concept research study on the effects of Limbic Reflexology for Fibromyalgia Symptoms.

My love for teaching was sparked again in 2018, whilst working for a specialist mental health and wellbeing organisation as their mental health & wellbeing trainer / co-ordinator. This led to me qualifying as a First Aid for Mental Health Instructor in 2020.
